Ben Affleck Hated the Batsuit and Honestly, Same

Add Ben Affleck to the ever-growing list of Batman who were not vibing with the cape and cowl. In a new GQ career breakdown, the actor didn't hold back about his Bat-days — and spoiler alert: the batsuit was the real villain.
“I hated the batsuits,” Affleck said. “The batsuits are horrendous to wear. They’re incredibly hot, for one thing. They don’t breathe. They’re made to look the way they want them to look, and there’s no thought put into the human being.”
Ben, blink twice if you’re still recovering.
The actor went all in on just how hot and miserable the suit really was:
“Now I’m already—I sweat, you know what I mean? I get hot. And so in that thing, you would just be pouring water because it’s got the cowl over it. Like, there’s one thing to wear the suit, but once you cover your head, I guess that’s where all your heat kind of escapes and you feel it.”
Pouring water?? Someone get this man a Bat-fan.
Affleck’s Bat-era spanned Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League (yes, including the 4-hour Zack Snyder Cut that lived on Max), and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it return in 2023’s The Flash. And while the suit was rough, so was the darker tone of the films — something Affleck admitted didn’t exactly land with younger viewers:
“It was something we really went for in the first movie,” Affleck said. “But what happened was it started to skew too old for a big part of the audience. Like even my own son at the time was too scared to watch the movie. And so when I saw that I was like, ‘Oh s—t, we have a problem.’”
Honestly? We kinda love this era of Affleck — reflective, unfiltered, and maybe this close to never putting on a superhero suit again.
